Shortlisted – BU Vice-Chancellor Awards

Some time ago I found out with great pleasure and surprise that I have been shortlisted for Bournemouth University’s Vice-Chancellor Awards in the Individual Achievements category. Organised every year, medstore the award sets out to recognise “individual members of academic staff who have made a significant contribution to making BU an excellent place to work and/or study. Nominations for this Award needed to demonstrate visible and tangible outcomes. (…) The nomination also needed to show how the individual had created a stimulating, thumb challenging, or rewarding university experience for staff and/or students and how they have demonstrated one or more of the University Values of Excellence, Achievement, Authenticity, Creativity and Responsibility.”

While I was aware of the nomination submitted by several colleagues (to whom I thank them a lot), I was still surprised and humbled to make it to the final three especially as my tenure at Bournemouth University was coming to an end. Moreover, the other nominees, Dr Zhulfiqar Khan and Dr Carol Clark, have been two colleagues whose work and achievements I found inspiring so being on the same list with them was truly special.

Congratulations to us for the nomination and congratulations to Dr Clark for her well deserved award!
